Okay, got *some* sleep, but should be able to take a nap this afternoon before going to work. Good so far.

Feeling okay, upbeat but not manic. Thinking about the future and planning, which is good.

Still have several varieties of Old Shit to clean up. Traffic tickets, the phone-jack job, the Delaware job. Still have moving to do. All the storage stuff, the living room furniture, und so weiter.

My experience yesterday re: talking to people was interesting. I do *need* it. And this suggests a number of things about what I should do differently, and how my life is different from my father's.

More immediately, I need to write my first custody motion, and send an email to the Evil Ex about it. And e-research Twyla Tharp for Gabe. And contact P'nei Or in Princeton, though Thursday is usually Rabbi's Day Off. And talk to Dad about money.

Slightly less immediately, I have to write a paper on household habits, and a proposal for the Poly Accounting System talk.

Breakfast should probably figure in here too, somewhere.

Have a day, y'all.

best,

Joel

It's a wee bit chilly in here this morning, which is okay. Helps me get up and get moving. But heat is going to be *expensive* this winter, and I find myself wishing that as I was leaving the house I could automagically drop house-temperature to about 40F, bottling the heat for later release. No can do, obviously; Maxwell's demon works for Maxwell, not me. I can turn the furnace off 'til I get home, but that's about it.

Mars-life would be different that way; you *would* bottle up the air, and its heat along with it, if you weren't going to be using the room. I still haven't found any good data about nitrogen in Martian soil; anyone know of any? Data, that is; nitrogen I have, here if not there.

Okay, got up, breakfasted, and out the door. Got a haircut and a cardio workout. Now going to visit the storage area, and possibly get a piece or two of furniture.

I'm a teriffic Grand Planner. The reason I need to talk to people is to remind me which universe I'm in, and *which* Grand Plan I'm pursuing. Absent an audience, I can plan a new world between breakfast and coffee, so why not follow *that* one instead of *this* old thing? I need to write a book to remind me of who and where I am, so I don't end up fifteen other people.

What about you? How do you keep track of which universe you're in?

best,

Joel
