Reading First Is Not Good

*Writing* here, on the other hand, can help me focus my mind and get my day started. Reading first, OTOH, leads to a day spent sitting here living other people's lives, and typically they'd be happier doing that themselves. Or at least so they tell me when I try living their lives *for* them.

Yesterday turned out to be a public-transit farce; took all day to have brunch with danjite and kaybee and Maia. I suppose "three buses per day from here to there" *does* count as "scheduled service," but is obviously not terribly useful for someone trying to *get* between here and there. If it wasn't for the hail we might've walked; it's only 17 miles.

I need to get out of the house. I have at least one task to do before I leave, so I'll bid adieu and go do it.
