Makin' whoopie. Or shabbos. Or something.

Being more future-focused, I'm thinking in this between-days space about tomorrow, in which I will address the Board of the UUFC on what I've been doing as Chair of the Building and Grounds committee and what I want to do next year. And I've got a few sample reports to work from.

But that's not 'til 9am, and I've got a lot of yesterday to celebrate. Made Shabbos at Eric's apartment, and all eleven people present were delighted. Started at 8:30am to get the house in order and do the shopping, then made matzo-ball soup, tossed green salad with red-leaf lettuce, tomatos, cucumbers, celery, carrots, red bell pepper, olives, garbanzos, red onion, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and I'm probably forgetting a couple of things that were in there, though I did forget to add mushrooms. After that, though, were acorn squash with cinnamon and maple syrup, mashed red potatos with onion, garlic, and sour cream, two roast chickens, buying challah (can't get water-challah locally, dammit), steamed broccoli, and then Laura's mixed-berry-and-apple pie (I'd picked the last of the local blackberries for it yesterday) with both chocolate and French vanilla ice cream.

There may have been a leftover or two. The 3 vegans present ignored the chicken but pronounced themselves both full and content (the pie, salad, and squash were vegan, and two of 'em were willing to ignore the sour cream in the potatos), and Eric's kids, who are less than pleased with him cooking vegan (which he does to meet his own dietary needs) were ecstatic.

And Eric, normally not a good verbal thinker, suggested I organize the Civilization bizplan in terms of Finances, Operations, and Marketing, which if I add a section for Social Goals I can fit all my pre-existing categories under those headings very nicely.

At the moment, though, I think I need to go to bed. I've had 2 hours sleep already, a couple more would be nice.
