Enough hands?
polydad
I'm a bit worried about today.

Yesterday, I got a load out of the storage area all by myself. Good work, completed.

Today, I need to do that twice again, and the second trip involves moving two heavy pieces of furniture. With three helpers this would be easy; with two, difficult but doable. I'm going to have *one*. And my body is saying "Remember that thing we did yesterday? We did it, but that was pushing things a bit."

I'm hoping that with the aid of a good hand-truck this will be doable. My imagination says that it'll simply be a case of lift the big cube onto the hand-truck, roll it to the van, and lift it straight into the van. Twice.

I'm not going to injure myself; if I can't do it, I won't. I can lift that much *weight* all by myself without a problem; the problem is the bulky, awkward shape -- roughly a 3'x3'x4' rectangular solid, with a flange around one face. Weight is between 150 and 200 lbs., probably at the lower end of that range. No handles or easy gripping-places.

The *first* trip will be comparatively easy; a lot of stuff, but all small and/or light pieces. It will, though, tire me out somewhat before the Main Act.

I'm being momentarily distracted by the foibles and delusions of my housemates. Liam seems to be bent on re-creating his childhood; his father owned a grocery store and he seems to be unhappy unless the kitchen is overflowing with more perishables than we can actually store. Jeph has no concept of housekeeping whatsoever, but keeps on thinking that he's actually an expert and whatever the rest of us are doing is horribly wrong and unsanitary. (Keeping a pot of soup simmering on the back of the stove is not a health hazard; things don't live in 210F liquids. [OK, some extremeophile bacteria do. But there aren't any of those here.])

I can deal with each of those, and cope with both of 'em together at the same time, which doesn't happen often. Usually it's one or the other of 'em exercising their particular foible. And I probably have some foibles myself, although it's the nature of foibles that I don't know what they might be.

Today, move heavy things.

Glad to hear it. If it takes a bit longer thats fine. Hope the move is finished soon and you are cozy and enjoying the new place!

Not moving. Clearing out storage area.

Lol! Right! Sorry. I read it whilst exhausted last night!
Is it empty yet?

No, my helper yesterday ghosted on me. Hired new helper, going over to get what should be the last load in a few minutes.

Well that's obnoxious... i hate it when peoplw say they are doing something and randomly back out. Such little integrity...
